While this child's skin is close to perfect, I cloned away owies on the forehead and nose as you'll see in the next photo. Then, wherever you click next, the selected spot will be cloned right over the imperfection you're "painting" on. When you find the right spot, option-click to select it as your "paint". The better the match, the more successful your retouching will be. This may be right next to the area to be retouched or on a totally different part of the face. Make sure your photo is displaying at full resolution. You'll have to experiment to see what works for you and the image you're working on.
